Emergency Kits

In the event of a local disaster or earthquake, the City of Edmonds has us fill a large storage box with necessary items that the staff and children may need for an emergency situation.  These storage boxes will be kept in an emergency container beside the ball field off Dayton along with some general supplies for all Anderson Center users.  Edmonds Montessori requests that each student have their own emergency kit to be placed in these boxes.  These kits should be designed to keep your child secure and comfortable under difficult circumstances.  In a ONE GALLON ZIPLOCK BAG, LABELED WITH YOUR CHILDS NAME, PLEASE ADD THE FOLLOWING ITEMS:

Emergency Space Blanket (ALL WEATHER) Blanket

  Raisins of other dried fruit

  Granola Bar

  Fruit Snacks

  Beef Jerky

  Can of Juice

The items don’t need to match exactly, as long as it is equivalent to the list.

We also suggest that you include a letter of comfort, a family photo and a warm pair of socks.  Please cut off the bottom half of this sheet, place in your ziplock bag and return to your teachers no later than the first day of school.  The unused kits will be returned to you on the last day of the school year.  Please do not pack any water as we will be providing it for you.  Thank you for your cooperation.
