Christi and Michael Kreft have been
married for more than 29 years. Early in
their relationship, Christi dreamt of owning
her own school to empower children with
education. When presented with a once in a
lifetime opportunity, the Kreft family
purchased Edmonds Montessori in 2007. They
strive to offer the children at Edmonds
Montessori quality learning opportunities,
empowerment in education, and
self-discovery. Christi remains
just as passionate today as she was 27 years
ago when she received her Montessori
Certification. After starting with Edmonds
Montessori in 2000, she has worn many hats:
teacher, trainer, mentor, and program
director. Now, she has fulfilled her dream
as an owner/teacher. Every day, Christi
wakes up excited to teach and guide young
children who walk through the doors of the
Francis Anderson Center. Michael works as
a Sr. Technical Gas Control Analyst. To
support Christi, he takes care of the
necessary school related business - outside
of the daily functions of the classroom.
Michael manages behind the scenes duties
such as the website, billing, and other
maintenance that helps the school run
smoothly. They have a son,
Dradin, who graduated from the University of
Idaho and went on to earn a J.D. from the
University of Mississippi with an Air and
Space Law Concentration. Christi and Michael
believe whole heartedly that his success
socially and academically is strongly
related to his participation in the
Montessori method during his youth.
